A Collection Of “Special” Friends

Over the next few days, we’re going to be featuring some softies, felties, and plushies that are… different. They aren’t your average characters and we love them for that! Kicking off the series are these fantastically freaky little guys made by kick-ass craftista JunkerJane.

Felt 365

As the Crafting 365 concept gets more and more popular, we’re seeing a lot more really fantastic crafts popping up. Laura of Lupin devotes most of her daily crafting to adorable projects made of felt. It’s obvious that she puts a lot of love (and time!) into these hand-sewn goodies.

Polymer Perfection

Well it’s Friday, and we’re sending this week out with a bang. Shannon Levart of Miss Fickle Media is a polymer clay genius. We aren’t entirely sure how she “stamps” her graphics onto the polymer, but the end result is fantastic. Enjoy and have a craftastic weekend!

The following pendant has a different look to it than the others, but it’s too cute not to throw in as a bonus.

Celebrating El Día de los Muertos Early

Even though The Day of The Dead isn’t until November, when we saw these stuffed sugar skulls, we knew we had to post them right away! This is creative crafting at it’s finest. The idea alone is fantastic, and the embroidery is spectacular! Who is the creator of such awesome crafts? That’d be Alicia Traveria of The Small Cat Club.

Embroidery Meets Metal

We love crafters that think outside of the box, and Lynette Andreasen of Asymmetry is definitely one of them. Lynette combines metals with embroidery thread to create these beautiful accessories. She explains her vision and inspiration:

“My goal is to cause both the viewer and the wearer to reflect on the connections created by casual and intimate interactions between individuals. Everyday, people experience physical, emotional and circumstantial exchanges with others. I am interested in the imprint or traces these exchanges inevitably leave behind. Sometimes the traces are physical, other times they are emotional. Sometimes the impact of an interaction is obvious, while other times that impact is not easily seen or readily understood. My work is inspired by the consequences and imprints left behind by the human connections I see around me.”
