Turn Your Old Light Bulbs Into Hanging Vases
Have you made the switch to eco-friendly CFLs but don’t know what to do with all those old light bulbs? Why not turn them into lovely little hanging flower vases! This super easy tutorial comes from Veronica Peterson of Care2.

Step 1
Using fine-tooth metal saw, gently saw the bottom of light bulb. Pull out the filaments.
Step 2
Using a hand held drill place metal against some scrap wood and poke two holes opposite from each other.
Step 3
Lace thin wire through the holes and tie off at desired length. Fill with lovely blooms.

Oh this is a cute idea. I just threw out (gasp!) dead light bulbs the other night. I never know what to do with them and now I do.

Hi,
This is a beautiful upcycle for used lightbulbs. I think this would be a great fit for instructables.com. We have a few lightbulb hacks already, and I think this could get a lot of attention.
Would you consider posting an instructable for this? It’s super easy to do, especially since you have all of the copy written. Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow, and your picture is great. Please give it some consideration and let me know if there’s anything I can do to help.
Once you’ve posted, let me know and I’ll make sure it gets featured and gets some good front-page exposure!
Best,
Sarah
